JBL Flip 6 price in Kenya
The JBL Flip series of Bluetooth speakers is one of the most ubiquitous around. The Flip 6 promises to improve upon the generation before it with better sound quality, and a more durable IP67 dust- and water-resistant build. The Flip 6 has a dual-passive radiator system, along with the woofer and tweeter which should yield better audio quality.
Place the JBL Flip 6 next to its predecessor, the Flip 5, and, externally at least, it’s a game of spot-the-difference. JBL has eased off slightly on the “ruggedized” rubber accents on the edges of the tubular speaker, and the passive bass radiators now feel cool, textured, and metallic rather than smooth and rubbery. The layout of the power and Bluetooth buttons alongside the USB-C port is the same, but they are mounted on a slightly smaller rubber panel that no longer spans the entire length of the speaker.
The Flip 6’s stability is now aided by a little rubber foot beneath the panel, to ensure it doesn’t actually flip off your desk. Previously, the joining point of the speaker’s fabric jacket was hidden by the larger rubber panel and here it is fully exposed. We mention this because JBL made a similar choice for the Go 3 and, on that smaller speaker, we found it created a weak point that became susceptible to fraying over time. Here, however, this spine feels well finished with not a skein exposed for pulling.
- PartyBoost: Sometimes it has to be a bit louder. JBL Flip 6 can be coupled with several loudspeakers from the JBL product portfolio. The only requirement is that the respective speaker also supports PartyBoost. If this is the case, the same music can be played in every room and thus the right conditions for a good celebration can be created.
- Water resistance: Flip 5 offers protection against water and is IPX7 certified. Flip 6 has IP67 protection and is, therefore, water and dust-resistant. Both models can be used indoors and outdoors and can even survive short-term immersion in the water. So there is no problem if the Bluetooth speaker falls into the pool during summer use.
- Bluetooth version: JBL Flip 6 uses Bluetooth 5.1 to connect to playback devices. With JBL Flip 5 it was Bluetooth 4.2. This means that pairing with Flip 6 is more stable. Users can also move further away from their smartphone or tablet with the Bluetooth speaker.
